Remains // An Archive will be participating at Who Owns Black Data: Slavery & Data hosted on March 29, 2024 in Baltimore, MD, by the Black Beyond Data and the Diaspora Solidarities Lab. This inaugural convening will gather a distinguished group of scholars, librarians, activists and archivists to discuss, elucidate, and provide public answers to the question: who owns and controls the Black historical and cultural record?

An intimate conversation between Remains // An Archive and artist-collaborators Romaine McNeil, Tatiana Esh, Sha-Shonna Rogers, and Julia Mallory, on the Slavery in Motion project.

Convened by Solidarity Fellows Kevin Ah-Sen & Jessica Newby with the support of the Diaspora Solidarities Lab, LifexCode, Johns Hopkins Centre for Africana Studies, Johns Hopkins Programme for Women and Gender Studies, Johns Hopkins Program in Latin American, Caribbean and Latinx Studies, Inheritance Baltimore, and the Billie Holiday Center for the Liberation Arts.
